Andy lived right down the street from me. The esparzas were family. They took me in like I was one of their own. I know most of their family better than my own. Andy was a big dreamer. He would spend a lot of lazy summer days taking about and aspiring what life would be like when we got older and how to put our stamp on this world.
My dad would beam whenever he would speak of Andrew’s work ethic and character. From the stories I have heard of Andrew, he is lion-hearted. He sought justice, loved mercifully, and he walked humbly with his God. Andrew was a shining example of what it meant to be a public servant, a son, a brother, and a friend…
Andy’s gift to all that knew him was his selfless, uncompromising devotion to his friends and family. He was a person who never cheated the game, never cheated his school, and never cheated his teammates or coaches in a game that is unforgiving in its revelation of character flaws.
